"Raised and home schooled in the Catskill Mountains by his two adopted parents, Rowan Newby learned from a young age he had a knack for melody.  Whistling outta the womb to later writing spontaneous parodies and jingles to make his friends laugh in grade school. His father eventually gifted him an 80's classical beater.  An old nylon string no-name dusted off from his Woodstockian hippy days.

He would spend hours in his room writing riffs and 3 chord folk songs inspired by anything he could get his hands on.  At that time it was mostly the local oldies station, the ‘Nuggets’ garage rock complication and some hand-me-down CD’s by Roger Miller, Sonic Youth, Alexander ‘Skip’ Spencer, and the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack.

Despite the natural affinity to music, Rowan eventually went to college to pursue film, theater and philosophy. Dropping in and out of school played a role until finally a ribbon break at the end of a meandering saunter across a tired finish line.   Playing in small folk outfits and conceptual punk bands, Rowan mostly kept to his room that eventually turned into a van.

Flash forward a decade and the world stops to join him in the underground with a global shutdown.  He had moved on to other mediums and mostly focused on self-care and meditation, but decided in this time to pick back up the guitar and give the ol' melody maker some attention.   It was around this time he discovered that he had a twin living a thousand miles away in the South East.  Bewildered by this familial insanity, they met and have been co-writing music ever since.   Rowan is a self proclaimed digital nomad and remains private about his upbringing and personal life."
